Seven-card stud is a classic real money poker game. Unlike Hold’em and Omaha where you pot blinds, 7 Card Stud uses antes that everyone posts prior to being dealt cards.
Once players post a fixed ante, each player receives two cards face down and one card face up. The face up card is called the “door card” and determines who will start the action. The lowest card is called the “bring in” and starts the action with the minimum bet. From there, players can call, raise, or fold.
After all players have acted, everyone gets another card face up. This is known as “fourth street”. This time (and from here on) the player with the highest card or hand showing acts first. So, if a couple of people make a pair on fourth street, the highest pair showing starts the betting. If no one shows a pair, the highest card combination starts the betting.
The action continues in the same manner on “fifth street” and “sixth street”. The last card (seventh street) is dealt face down. After the action on seventh street, players show their hand to win the pot.
